Everything was falling into place...We moved back into the house we left when Jay lost his job, Avry Claire was back at Hite Elementary, I opened my home daycare, and Jay had a job. I'm not going to sit here and lie, it was still a tough time for my family. Jay wasn't making near the money he made in the past and I started my daycare with one kiddo. Because of the tough times, I feel I am a different person and what I'm going to share with you would have been embarrassing for me in the past but with everything we have been through, there's no need to be embarrassed, I am grateful. We were on food stamps for six months, we sought assistance in paying our rent/utilities, and the EAC food bank helped us. I cried the first time I walked into the EAC food bank..not because I was embarrassed but because I was so happy they were there to help me, to help my kids. It saddens me that people take advantage of these things...we used them for the time we needed them, afterall that's what they are there for, when we ((need)) them.
I started my daycare in September 2009 and by the end of October/beginning of November, my daycare was full and the time came that we no longer needed the "help". Jay loved his job and I loved my daycare but I knew that as much as I love kiddos, it wasn't something I wanted to do when I'm 50/60 years old. I began chatting with Jay about going back to school which we have talked about in the past but I was always too chicken to pull the trigger...this time was going to be different. So, I began the process with Galen College of Nursing. I honestly thought I failed the pax exam (entrance exam), it was hard I'm telling you! Once again, Jay was right there cheering me on. When I received the news that I had passed I immediately began thinking about how to tell my daycare parents...would they be mad? None of them were mad, in fact they were all happy for me! Most of them cried with me, I would miss them so. My last day was September 2 and I closed with a BANG!

I woke up to a horrible stomache pain at 6:15a.m., ended up in the bathroom with diarrhea..I knew then that Jay was going to have to help me with the daycare kiddos. Bless his heart, he didn't mind at all. I was literally in bed ALL flippin' day with severe diarrhea, weakness, dizziness to the point of passing out at times. I vomited twice..once as Jay was coming to check on me asking "are you all right" and me yelling "do i ((look)) alright to you". I had stomach pains all day long and had hardly drank anything because what little I did drink went right through me. Around 7pm, Jay looked at me and said "you look dehydrated, lets go to the er". We were ER-bound! We arrived at the hospital and as I laid down on the bed the nurse asked "is there a chance you're pregnant". I replied "anything is possible but probably not" and I proceeded to tell her about our kiddos, one being adopted and the other a fertility baby. The tech came in to take blood and put in an IV as I was definately dehydrated. Avry Claire opted to stay with the neighbors and Jayden was with us at the hospital. As Jay was on the phone trying to let people know at church why we weren't there and Jayden was watching a movie, the doctor waltzes into my room with a big smile and in his little italian accent cheerfully announces "you blood test came back positive for pregnancy". I must tell you, we thought we had our life planned out as we were content with the two kiddos (neither one of us wanted to go through all of the adoption/fertility stuff again), our marriage was in an awesome place as Jay and I were connecting like never before, and I was finally going back to school, hoping to make our life better financially. Soooo, with that being said...I grabbed that doctor by the arm and pulled him over the side of my bed and in a not so nice voice, said "you're kidding me right?!? did you test the right blood?!?" He of course said he wasn't kidding and they had indeed tested ((my)) blood. I looked at Jay who's mouth was hanging open and thank goodness Jayden had headphones on because I began crying and swearing like never before! This wasn't in our plan.....not. at. all!! The nurse came in to check my blood pressure, saying "congratulations, are those good tears or bad tears"....they were both. I was pumped full of fluids and sent home with news I never thought I'd get without the help of a doctor or an agency. We pulled up in front of the neighbors house to pick up AC and as she jumped into the truck she said..."it took forever, we were beginning to think you were pregnant"! Jay and I just looked at each other and didn't say a word.
